Garhshankar, August 2:- The meeting of the Punjab Subordinate Services Federation unit Block Garhshankar was held at the office of the Canal Department, Garhshankar under the chairmanship of Block President Sham Sundar Kapoor. State leaders Makhan Singh Wahidpuri and Jathedar Amrik Singh specially attended the meeting.
Giving information about the decisions of the meeting, Chaudhary Jeet Bagwain said that a large number of employees and pensioners from Block Garhshankar will participate in the Maha Rally being organized by the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front in Chandigarh on August 7 in favor of the demands of employees and pensioners.
He said that the vehicles for the rally will leave from the Forest Department Office, near the court at 9 am. Different teams have also been formed to publicize the rally and collect funds, which will go to government offices and schools and motivate the employees to join the rally.
State leader Makhan Singh Wahidpuri said that this grand rally will prove to be a major protest against the anti-employee policies of the Punjab government. He alleged that despite its election promises, the government has not fulfilled any of the main demands of the employees and pensioners, but rather has tortured the employees and pensioners who are struggling for their rights. He said that due to this, there is huge resentment against the government among the employee class.
On this occasion, employee leaders Gurnam Singh Hajipur and Pandit Pawan Kumar said that all types of unskilled employees should be regularized, the old pension scheme should be restored, the pending installments of Dearness Allowance (DA) should be released in cash immediately, honorarium workers should be brought under the scope of minimum wage, cut allowances should be restored, a coefficient of 2.59 should be implemented for pensioners, vacant posts in all departments should be filled immediately and rising inflation should be controlled.
He appealed to all employees and pensioners to participate in the Chandigarh Maha Rally on August 7 in large numbers to achieve their legitimate demands. Balwant Ram, Raman Kumar, Gopi Ram, Vikas Kumar, Shingara Ram Bhajjal, Jagdish Pakhowal and other leaders also expressed their views in the meeting.
