Una, November 20: Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued strict instructions to all concerned departments to maintain law and order in Una district. He stated that anti-social elements violating the law will not be spared under any circumstances. He directed the police administration to maintain strict vigilance on rioters and miscreants from border areas and to take immediate and strict action against any violations.
He was chairing a meeting on Thursday to review law and order. Senior officials from the administration and police department, including Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav, were present.
Jatin Lal reiterated in the meeting that maintaining law and order in the district and providing a safe environment to the general public is the administration's top priority, and no compromise will be made on this front at any level. The administration will show no leniency towards violations of law and order.
**Police patrolling emphasized, quick response team to be formed**
The Deputy Commissioner stated that a 7-8-member quick response team will be formed to effectively monitor law and order in the district. This team will patrol highways and sensitive areas day and night, ensuring immediate action on any suspicious activity.
**All weapon licenses in the district to be reviewed**
Jatin Lal stated that all weapon licenses issued so far in the district will be reviewed. Each police station in-charge will submit a report from their area. In cases where individuals involved in land disputes or other complaints are found to possess weapon licenses, their licenses will be immediately suspended and the weapons confiscated.
He categorically stated that strict punitive action will also be taken against those displaying weapons on social media or brandishing weapons in public.
**Intensive checking of vehicles, active presence in the field**
The Deputy Commissioner directed the police administration to conduct intensive checking of all vehicles coming and going from border areas and to conduct random raids at various locations. Police should maintain an active presence on the roads and ensure area dominance.
**Take action against illegal enclosures**
The Deputy Commissioner directed that all enclosures associated with liquor shops be inspected for permits. The police and excise departments should conduct joint inspections and ensure immediate action in case of any violations.
**More stringent monitoring of illegal mining**
Jatin Lal directed stricter monitoring of illegal mining activities in the district. He stated that checkpoints will be established on the routes of tipper trucks. Surveillance will also be strengthened through CCTV cameras.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that a modern CCTV system is being installed in the district at a cost of approximately ?6-8 crore, which will enhance the overall surveillance system.
At the meeting, Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav stressed the need for complete compliance with law and order instructions and stated that violators will not be spared under any circumstances.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar, Additional Superintendent of Police Surendra Sharma, SDM Una Abhishek Mittal, SDM Bangana Sonu Goyal, SDM Gagret Saumil Gautam, all DSPs, senior officers of Mining and Excise Department were present in the meeting.
