Karnal, May 18: The District Town Planner announced that demolition operations were carried out against two illegal colonies under the leadership of a Duty Magistrate and the police. The first illegal colony was situated near Uttam Nagar in the village of Chhapra Khera, covering an area of ??approximately 2.75 acres. In this colony, three DPCs (Damp Proof Courses) and all unpaved roads were demolished. Similarly, the second illegal colony was located on Daniyalpur Road in the village of Mangalpur, spanning an area of ??approximately 1.5 acres. In this colony, five DPCs, the sewage network, and all paved roads were demolished.
He stated that demolition drives are being conducted on a continuous basis. Furthermore, FIRs are consistently being registered against illegal colonies and those involved in unauthorized construction. The District Town Planner is also issuing periodic warnings to the public, making it clear that anyone found promoting illegal colonies or unauthorized construction will face the strictest possible legal action. Every necessary measure is being taken to curb the proliferation of illegal colonies and unauthorized structures.
The general public is once again urged not to fall prey to the schemes of property dealers, but rather to purchase plots in authorized colonies within the city to build their homes. Concurrently, property dealers are appealed to obtain the necessary licenses from the Department of Town and Country Planning, Haryana (Chandigarh), before developing any colonies, thereby ensuring that the general public can benefit from legitimate developments.
