SAS Nagar, October 13: Against the proposal of the Aam Aadmi Party government to sell the expensive assets of Powercom spread over hundreds of acres in big cities (which were donated to the Electricity Board by the Panchayats and some individuals decades ago for the construction of offices and grids), the engineers, employees and pensioners organizations of the institution PSEB Employees Joint Forum, Bijli Mulazam Ekta Manch Punjab, Association of Junior Engineers, Grid Sub-Station Employees Union (Reg. 24), Powercom and Transco Pensioners Union Punjab (related ATK), Pensioner Welfare Federation Pehalwan, besides the leaders of the PSEB Engineers Association met through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Rattan Singh Mazari and Gurpreet Singh Gandiwind.
In the meeting, on the issue of saving the existence of the Powercom institution, the engineers, employees and pensioners' organizations decided to unite and start a joint struggle against the government's proposal to sell the properties. The leaders of the joint faction, Harpal Singh and Gurvel Singh Bullpuria, said that after protest dharnas will be held in all circles of Powercom from October 16 to October 31, flag marches will be held and on November 2, a state-level protest dharna will be held in Ludhiana against the Power Minister.
Engineer Jagdeep Singh Garcha, Engineer Parminder Singh, Gurbhej Singh Dhillon, Sarabjit Singh Bhana, Surinder Pal Lahoria, Baljit Singh Modla, Davinder Singh Pisor, Ravel Singh Sahaipur, Gurjit Singh Shergill, Jasbir Singh Athwal, Harmandeep, Radheshyam, Amrik Singh Masitan, Puran Singh Gumti, Sukhwinder Bhagat, Baba Amarjit Singh, Kaur Singh Sohi, Pawanpreet Singh, Gurtej Singh Pakho, Raghbir Singh, Rachpal Singh Pali, Kewal Singh Banwait, Gagandeep Singh Virdi, Arsvir Singh, Gurpyar Singh, Sukhwinder Singh were also present in the meeting.
