Patiala, August 02:- Veer Arun Dhaliwal "Valmikin" the Punjab and Chandigarh in-charge of Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj (Bhavadhas) Bhim Bharat said that the Punjab Bandh given in protest against the lathi charge on the sanitation workers who were peacefully protesting for their rights in Barnala has received overwhelming support in Patiala.
He said that a huge protest march was taken out by various religious, social, employee and farmer organizations under the banner of the Joint Struggle Committee Municipal Corporation Patiala. On this occasion, all the shopkeepers, market associations, businessmen and businessmen of Patiala made a significant contribution in making the Punjab Bandh a success by keeping their shops and businesses closed.

He demanded from Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann that an impartial investigation into the Barnala incident be conducted, the legitimate demands of the sanitation workers be immediately accepted and strict legal action should be taken against the police officers responsible for the lathi charge under the SC/ST Act and they should be dismissed from service.
