Kotkapura, August 27:- On the call of the Joint Coordination Committee, Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front, and Joint Employees Forum, teachers, employees and pensioners of Kotkapura tehsil today staged a protest in the local Lala Lajpat Rai Municipal Park and then burnt copies of the tweet of the Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann on August 27 and the letter issued by the Personnel Department of Punjab regarding the threat to employees on the same day in front of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office and raised strong slogans against the Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Speaking on the occasion, pensioner leaders Prem Chawla, Kulwinder Singh Maur, Subhash Chandra Sharma, Jagsir Singh Khara, Kulwant Singh Chani, Veer Inderjit Singh Puri, Power Com pensioner leader Darshan Kumar Bawa, Technical Services Union leaders Harpreet Singh Khalsa, Harpreet Singh Wada Daraka and Manjit Singh, Municipal Employees Union Kotkapura President Sushil Kumar, Municipal Council Employees leader Sharan Kumar, Democratic Teachers Front leaders Ajaib Singh, Jatinder Singh Dhilwan, Raj Kumar Tony, Master Cadre Union leaders Jasjit Singh, Gurnam Singh Bahmanwala, Jagdeep Singh, Elementary Teachers Union leader Preet Bhagwan Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Government School Teachers Union leader Kuldeep Singh Sehdev, Sukhchain Singh Ramsar, Government Teachers Union leader Navdeep Singh accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Punjab government of neglecting their four and a half years of service. During the state division, they have continuously made decisions against employees and pensioners and have repeatedly run away from the talks by giving time to the joint leadership of employees and pensioners for meetings. The leaders called on the entire employee and pensioner class to tighten their belts from today itself to teach the Aam Aadmi Party a lesson in the Punjab Assembly elections.
The leaders warned the Punjab government that if the employees and pensioners were not given the due 18 percent DA, the old pension scheme was not restored, the raw employees were not regularized, the salaries of ASHA workers, mid-day meal workers and Anganwadi workers were not increased appropriately, the letter dated 15-1-2015 regarding recruitment on basic salaries was not canceled, the letter regarding payment of salaries as per the central pattern to the employees recruited after 17-7-2020 was not canceled and the decision of the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Honorable Supreme Court in this regard was not implemented in the right direction, then the outline of the struggles will be further intensified in the coming time. The entire responsibility for this will be the Punjab government. The leaders further said that the outline of the intense struggles against the Punjab government in the coming time will be drawn up during the state-level meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee being held in Ludhiana on August 30 tomorrow.
At this time, Punjab Student Union leader Sukhvir Singh addressed the fraternal gathering and strongly supported the demands of the employees and pensioners.
