Nawanshahr, October 30 (Jatinder Pal Singh Kaler):- In view of the approaching winter, the District Health Department of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar has issued an advisory urging people to remain vigilant about their health.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Aman Sood said that during seasonal changes, it is important to take special care of the health of children and the elderly. Fluctuations in temperature can lead to health problems, so timely precautions should be taken.

Dr. Aman Sood said that young children should be dressed in clothes suitable for the weather and protected from the cold. Along with providing them with nutritious and balanced food, it is also important to maintain personal hygiene. Parents should not delay seeking medical advice if children show symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty in breathing or any other unusual signs.

He also advised elderly people to wear adequate clothing to protect themselves from the cold, keep their bodies warm and take care of their daily diet and health. Elderly people who already have health problems should take their prescribed medicines on time and follow their doctors' advice.

The Civil Surgeon said that hand hygiene, consumption of clean water, nutritious food and adequate sleep are very important for staying healthy. People should use a handkerchief or tissue while coughing or sneezing and avoid close contact with others when they are ill.

He appealed to people not to take antibiotics or other medicines on their own in case of fever, cough or breathing-related problems. Instead, they should seek treatment as advised by a qualified doctor. Rather than ignoring any health problem, it is better to get timely medical attention.
