Hisar, April 7:- Under the aegis of the Divyang Ekadhikar Rehabilitation Trust, a comprehensive, informative, and practical workshop on the subject of “Mental Health Management and Neuro-developmental Disorders” was organized by the Department of Psychology at F.C. College, Hisar. Students from the M.A. Psychology, B.A. Psychology, and M.A. Yoga programs participated enthusiastically in this workshop, thereby further strengthening their understanding of mental health.
The program was presided over by the Principal, Dr. Anita Saharawat, and was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Piyusha Sharma. The occasion was graced by the special presence of Assistant Lecturers (Psychology) Dr. Rinku, Ms. Suchitra, Ms. Sushila, and Ms. Suman.
The workshop's keynote speaker, Rajpal Singh Basniwal (Senior Rehab Professional and Coordinator, Divyang Ekadhikar Rehabilitation Trust), highlighted the significance of mental health, explaining that it serves as a crucial foundation of an individual's life, influencing their behavior, thoughts, emotions, and social relationships. He also discussed in detail the mental health challenges arising in contemporary times due to increasing stress, competition, digital dependency, and social pressures.
He provided comprehensive information regarding neuro-developmental disorders—such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, communication disorders, and motor disorders—and shed light on their underlying causes, including genetic factors, imbalances in brain development, nutritional deficiencies during pregnancy, birth-related complications, and environmental influences.
Serving as collaborators during the program, Arun Rathi (Special Educator) and Anupriya Verma (Psychologist) familiarized the students with the practical aspects of mental health management and facilitated the development of professional skills through various interactive activities. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Piyusha Sharma, Head of the Department of Psychology, and concluded by the Principal, Dr. Anita Saharawat. In her address, she expressed her gratitude to all the experts and organizers from the Divyang Ekadhikar Rehabilitation Trust, commending them for the successful organization of the event. Finally, the organizers extended their thanks to all the participants, faculty members, and collaborators, and pledged to organize similar awareness programs in the future.
