Una, March 2. The Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission will organize a massive public awareness camp in Samurkalan, Kutlahar Assembly constituency, Una district, on March 5. Commission Chairman and former Minister Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman stated that the primary objective of this camp is to make Scheduled Castes aware of their constitutional rights and provide detailed information on various government-run welfare schemes.
The camp will be held on March 5 at 10 a.m. at the Mandir Ground in front of the Lata Mangeshkar Kala Kendra in Samurkalan.
On Monday, Kuldeep Dhiman held a meeting with officials from the Una and Bangana subdivisions at the Commission's office to review preparations. Commission members Advocate Vijay Dogra, Advocate Digvijay Malhotra, and Advocate Shalini, along with officials from various departments, were present at the meeting. Mr. Dhiman stated that the state government is implementing numerous welfare schemes for the Scheduled Castes, but due to a lack of awareness, eligible individuals are unable to fully benefit from them. The Commission strives to ensure that information about rights and schemes reaches every individual in society and that the procedures for availing benefits are simplified, clear, and easy.
He stated that the Commission will organize such public awareness camps across the state in a phased manner, and this camp in Samurkalan is the beginning of this comprehensive campaign. The camp will provide information about constitutional rights and various welfare schemes, as well as on-the-spot guidance on the process of availing benefits. He provided the relevant officials with necessary guidelines for the successful and well-organized conduct of the camp.
On this occasion, Mr. Dhiman expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, stating that Una district received the Commission's state-level office due to his visionary thinking. He stated that the Commission's strong leadership has given new impetus to the protection of the rights of the Scheduled Castes and the effective implementation of welfare schemes. The Commission is fully committed to protecting the interests of the SC community and ensuring that the benefits of the schemes reach every eligible person.
Commission Chairman and former Minister Mr. Dhiman appealed to the Panchayat representatives, social organizations and people of the Scheduled Caste community to participate in the camp in large numbers and get information about their rights and schemes.
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Member Secretary of the Commission Varinder Sharma, SDM Una Abhishek Mittal, SDM Bangana Sonu Goyal, DSP Headquarters Ajay Thakur, District Welfare Officer Awas Pandit, BDO Una Ramanveer Chauhan and BDO Bangana K.L. Verma along with officers from various departments were present in the meeting.
