Garhshankar - Due to the alarming condition of education in the state's government schools, the government's claims regarding the expansion of education appear to be failing. These views were expressed by Satish Kumar Soni, the founding President of Adarsh Social Welfare Society Punjab, during a press conference. 
He stated that a question mark is being raised over the government's claims of an 'Education Revolution'. The primary reason for this is the failure to fill the shortage of teachers in schools. Consequently, parents are losing faith in government schools and are shying away from enrolling their children there.
Another reason is the deployment of teachers by the government for election processes and census duties. Utilizing teachers for non-educational tasks is highly inappropriate, as it degrades the image of government schools and shifts the inclination of children and their mindset toward private schools. 
Due to the declining number of students, government schools are reaching the verge of closure. He emphasized that the government should pay special attention to raising the standard of education in government schools, increase the number of teachers, and ban the practice of assigning non-educational tasks to them. 
He added that the Adarsh Social Welfare Society Punjab demands from the state and central governments through the press that instead of using teachers for tasks like election duties and census, these tasks should be assigned to educated unemployed youth. This would ensure that children in government schools receive quality and uninterrupted education and would also prevent unemployed youth from having to struggle abroad for their livelihood.
