Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar: After the completion of the process of Gram Panchayat General Elections-2024, the State Election Commission Punjab has issued a notification of Election Tribunals and has notified the Presiding Officers for these Election Tribunals.
Disclosing this information, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain said that the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of three sub-divisions of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district (Sub-division Mohali, Sub-division Derabassi and Sub-division Kharar) have been posted as the Presiding Officers of these Election Tribunals.
He said that after the completion of the Gram Panchayat General Elections-2024, any candidate or voter related to these elections can file his petition with the designated tribunal for hearing as per the Punjab State Election Commission Act-1994.
He further said that there are a total of 4 Panchayat blocks in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district, dividing which, Election Tribunal-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate Kharar, Block Kharar and Majri, Election Tribunal-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate Mohali, Block Mohali and Election Tribunal-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate Derabassi, Block Derabassi will hear the election petitions filed and dispose of the petitions within the stipulated time frame.
The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer appealed that any candidate or voter related to the Gram Panchayat General Elections-2024 who is willing to file an election petition can file his election petition with the Election Tribunal as per the above distribution.
