Jalandhar:- State conveners of the Anti-Operation Green Hunt Democratic Front Punjab Dr. Parminder Singh, Prof. AK Maleri, Buta Singh Mahmudpur and Yash Pal said that the Democratic Front is organizing a state convention and demonstration dedicated to the International Human Rights Day on 7th December at 10.30 am at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar.
In which the main speakers will be the prominent fighters of democracy and human rights Prashant Rahi, Nadeem Khan and Dr. Navsharan. This gathering of the mass democratic forces of Punjab will take serious note of the brutal violation of democracy and human rights by the Indian state through massacres, imprisonment and false cases and will call for raising the mass democratic voice against it.
This gathering, while protesting the massacre of tribals and Maoist revolutionaries fighting for the protection of water, forest and land, will demand an end to Operation Kagar and other paramilitary operations, while at the same time it will strongly demand the release of all pro-people intellectuals, democratic activists including Umar Khalid, Gulfish Fatima, who are in jail on the basis of ‘urban Naxalism’ and other false narratives, and prisoners who have completed their sentences across the country.
The leaders of the front said that for the success of the provincial gathering, vigorous preparations are being made by organizing public meetings, discussions and conventions in different districts and by running a contact campaign. And an invitation is being given to all justice-loving forces, including writers, intellectuals, artists, lawyers, people's democratic activists, rationalists, to come to the state convention in droves to launch a joint effort against this fascist attack.
