Chandigarh, March 7:- Squadron Leader Anuj Vashisht, who was martyred in the Sukhoi (SU-30 MKI) plane crash in Karbi Anglong, Assam, was cremated with military honours in his native village Kakarana on Saturday. During this, a large number of villagers, public representatives and administrative officers paid emotional tributes to him.
A government spokesperson informed that on behalf of the state government, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma paid tribute to the martyred Squadron Leader Anuj Vashisht by laying a wreath on the mortal remains of the martyred Squadron Leader Anuj Vashisht. He met the bereaved family members and expressed his condolences. In his condolence message, he said that the loss of martyr Anuj Vashisht will always be felt not only by his family but also by the entire country. He said that his supreme sacrifice made for the protection of the country will always be remembered. A large number of dignitaries and villagers, including MP Deependra Singh Hooda, MLA Kuntala Khatak, were present at the last rites of the martyr.
