Patiala, September 2:- A special meeting of the central body of PRTC Pensioners Association was held at the Old Bus Stand Patiala under the leadership of the association chairman Mukand Singh and state president Bhagwant Singh Kanganwal. The outstanding dues of the pensioners were specifically discussed in the meeting.
The chairman, president, general secretary and two members each of the central body of various depots participated in this meeting. The spokesperson of each depot advised to start a struggle for the achievement of their demands. In this regard, it was unanimously decided that the meeting to be held on September 11, 2026 in each depot should be held in the form of a protest rally.
Apart from this, it was also decided that the meeting of the central body to be held on the third Wednesday of this month, 16 September 2026, should be held in the form of a dharna at the head office and maximum number of people should participate in it. The leaders said that the struggle should continue until all the demands are accepted.
The spokesperson of each depot emphasized that the struggle should continue until the full dues are paid. State President Bhagwant Singh Kanganwal said that struggle is necessary for every kind of achievement and unity is needed for the struggle. He said, “You stay united, we will give you the dues.”
Secretary General Hari Singh Chamak emphasized on unity for the achievement of rights and said that we should actively participate in the struggle being fought by the farmers and the struggle being fought by the employees of Punjab for the dues.
Chairman Mukand Singh said that the pension has been obtained with a lot of struggle. To maintain it and collect the remaining dues, we will have to work hard and take drastic steps. He said that drastic steps need to be taken now to wake up the management and the government, which are sleeping in a deep sleep.
Keeping in mind the feelings of the representatives of various depots, it was unanimously decided that preparations for September 16 will be made by holding protest rallies in every depot on September 11 and a grand protest rally will be held at the head office on September 16. An appeal was made to participate in this rally in maximum numbers.
It was also unanimously decided here that maximum participation should be made in the struggle launched by the farmers and the struggle being carried out by the employees and pensioners of Punjab.
Bhajan Singh from Chandigarh, Gurdev Singh from Ludhiana, Kala Singh Kotkapura from Faridkot, Gurmeet Singh from Kapurthala, Pritam Singh Brar from Bathinda, Madan Mohan from Barnala, Sukhdev Singh from Budhlada, Balwant Singh Joga and Surjit Singh Balian from Sangrur and Joginder Singh from Patiala also expressed their views in this meeting. Hari Singh Chamak performed the stage duty well.
