Jalandhar, June 23:- Under the campaign dedicated to the martyrdom centenary of Babbar Akali Movement (1926-2026), the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee is organizing a special representative meeting at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar on June 27 at 11 am with the aim of getting wide support and cooperation from the people of the villages of historical events and heroes related to the Babbar Akali Movement.
Sharing information in this regard, Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee President Kulwant Singh Sandhu, General Secretary Gurmeet Singh and Convener of the Cultural Wing Amolak Singh said that to make the centenary campaign effective and participatory, the support of various public, democratic and fraternal organizations, committees associated with the historical heritage of patriots and social personalities is being received. He said that due to the active contribution of these institutions and individuals, this meeting on June 27 will play an important role in giving a strong direction to the centenary campaign.
The committee leaders said that during the meeting, detailed planning will be made to convey the history of the Babbar Akali movement and the message of its great martyrs to the people through various media like public meetings, contact campaigns, street plays, songs and music, discussions, photo and painting exhibitions, book exhibitions and film shows.
He said that the culmination of this campaign will be the **Ghadari Babas' Fair** to be celebrated on November 1, 2026, which will be dedicated to the martyrdom centenary of the Babbar Akali movement. Through this fair, the revolutionary legacy of the Babbars, Ghadari patriots and the freedom struggle will be highlighted before the people, which has often been neglected in history.
The committee leaders said that to make this historic campaign successful, the cooperation of people's organizations, institutions associated with revolutionary heritage and every section of society is required. They appealed to all related organizations, history lovers and aware citizens to join this special meeting on June 27.
