Chandigarh, May 21:- Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shri A. Srinivas has announced that the Election Commission of India has released the schedule for Special Jewel Revision of Electoral Rolls. This Special Jewel Revision of Electoral Rolls is going to start from June 15 to July 14, 2026, and the final publication of the Electoral Roll will be done on September 22, 2026.
Shri A. Srinivas was addressing a press conference at the new Haryana Civil Secretariat in Sector-17, Chandigarh today.
He informed that the Election Commission of India has released the schedule for Special Jewel Revision of Electoral Rolls. In cases where the ‘enumeration forms’ are not returned, the booth level officers may inquire with the residents of the neighbourhood to identify possible reasons like “absent”, “changed”, “deceased”, or “duplicate” and record accordingly. The BLOs have been instructed to visit each such house at least thrice to collect the information.
He said that the booth-wise list of voters whose names are not included in the draft list will be displayed on the notice boards of Panchayat Bhavans, Urban Local Bodies Offices and Block Development and Panchayat Officers’ offices to ensure public access to these lists. Along with this, the possible reasons for non-inclusion of names will also be displayed.
The Commission has directed all the Chief Electoral Officers to compile these lists and upload them in an accessible format on the CEO’s website and also to upload similar lists on the websites of the concerned District Election Officers.
During the door-to-door enumeration process, BLOs have been instructed to carry at least 30-40 blank Form-6 application forms and blank declaration forms to facilitate registration of new voters. The CEO appealed to the political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents 1 and 2. Till now, the CEO office has received details of 14,520 BLAs, out of which 6,438 are from BJP, 7,704 from Congress, 165 from CPI(M) and the rest are from other political parties. BLAs can also collect enumeration forms from voters and submit them to the BLOs.
In reply to a question, Shri Srinivas informed that the last Special Enumeration Review was conducted in Haryana in the year 2002. The enumeration forms can be downloaded from the official website from June 15, 2026. He also informed that a dedicated helpline number 1950 has been set up in all district headquarters and constituencies. This helpline will work in two shifts from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
He further clarified that if any voter is not present during the door-to-door survey, any adult member of the family can sign the form and hand it over to the BLO.
The CEO said that compared to other states, Haryana's election data has about 18 percent logical errors, including wrong names and spelling errors. The total number of registered voters in Haryana as on May 21, 2026 is 2,06,52,760, while the total number of polling stations is 20,629.
He said that till now, the election mapping of 1,32,51,717 voters has been completed, which is 64.16 percent of the total voters. Fatehabad is at the forefront with 86.56 percent mapping, followed by Charkhi Dadri at 82.36 percent, Sirsa at 80.82 percent, Kaithal at 78.59 percent, Mahendragarh at 77.20 percent, Nuh at 77.01 percent, Bhiwani at 76.61 percent, Yamunanagar at 75.81 percent, Rewari at 74.98 percent, Hisar at 73.82 percent and Jind at 71.93 percent.
Similarly, Kurukshetra has achieved 69.71 per cent, Karnal 68.13 per cent, Palwal 67.04 per cent, Jhajjar 64.07 per cent, Ambala 63.45 per cent, Rohtak 59.72 per cent, Panipat 58.88 per cent, Sonipat 58.39 per cent, Panchkula 51.20 per cent, Gurugram 35.06 per cent and Faridabad 29.66 per cent mapping.
Shri Srinivas said that all the Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers have been directed to ensure the access of BLOs especially in the high rise buildings/society of Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat and Panchkula.
He reiterated that there will be no undue pressure on the officers engaged in SIR work and the exercise will be conducted smoothly. As per ECI instructions issued to the Chief Secretaries of the States, no post notified as District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer will remain vacant. Further, no transfer of any officer or employee associated with SIR work will be done without prior approval of the Commission.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Ritu, Mr. Apoorva, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Shri. Raj Kumar Lohan and other officers of the CEO office were also present during this press conference.
