Nawanshahr:- Keeping in mind the Special Intensive Revision of Voter Lists-2026 (SIR) as per the guidelines of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh held a meeting with the representatives of political parties of the district.
During the meeting, the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner once again shared the schedule of Special Intensive Revision-2026 and informed that the BLOs of all the assembly constituencies in this district will go to the house of each voter during the Special Intensive Revision starting on June 25, 2026 and give a copy of the Enumeration Form (EF) to the voter and then after receiving it back, they will submit it to the office of the concerned Electoral Registration Officer.
In this regard, the District Election Officer informed that on 23rd and 24th June 2026, meetings are being held by each BLO with the BLAs appointed by the political parties of their voting areas and they will share the information of mapped and unmapped voters with them. Necessary information/assistance will be provided to the existing voters whose mapping with the Voter List 2003 has not been done yet.
The meeting was attended by political parties including Aam Aadmi Party's Mr. Jaspreet Singh Ruby Kang and Mr. Satnam Jalalpur, Shiromani Akali Dal's Mr. Jarnail Singh Khalsa, Mr. Dinesh Kumar and Mr. Harpreet Singh Khalsa, CPI(M)'s Mr. Jarnail Singh Ranewal and Mr. Jaswinder Singh Bhangal, Bahujan Samaj Party's Mr. Sarabjit Jafarpur and Mr. Harvilas Basra, Congress Party's Mr. Subhash Chandra and Mr. Baljinder Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party's Mr. Munish Agnihotri and Mr. Gurjit Singh. Apart from this, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, Tehsildar Elections Mr. Amandeep Singh and Mr. Jasvir Singh P.A. to DC. were present.
