According to the Indian Bullion and Jewelers Association, silver prices increased by Rs 5208 today to Rs 282720 and this is the highest price ever. Earlier on January 14, silver was at Rs 277512 per kg. Silver has increased by Rs 40 thousand in four days. On the other hand, gold prices fell, whereas till three days ago, the price of gold was continuously increasing.
It should be mentioned that in the year 2025, the prices of gold and silver increased drastically. Due to their continuously increasing prices, people have been attracted to buy these metals. This trend suggests that the shine of gold and silver will not fade in the year 2026 as well.
According to the ING Commodities Outlook 2026 report, the purchases made by central banks, the reduction of interest rates by the Federal Reserve and the tendency of people will be the main reasons for the increase in the purchase of these metals.
The report says that central banks are still buying, Trump's trade war is ongoing, the interests of many countries with other countries are being affected. It is estimated that gold prices may average $ 4,325 per ounce in 2026.
The report says that interest rates may fall, which will benefit those who buy gold and silver. The demand from central banks has also been important, where banks bought about 220 tons of gold in the third quarter of 2025, which is 28% more than in the second quarter. Poland, China and Kazakhstan are among the most active buyers. In addition, investors have also added 222 tonnes of gold to gold ETFs.
