New Delhi: Silver prices on Monday hit a new record high on strong demand in domestic and global markets. Silver prices in the national capital Delhi rose by Rs 10,000, crossing the Rs 3 lakh mark for the first time. Gold rose by Rs 1,900 to touch a new record high of Rs 1.48 lakh per 10 grams.
According to market sources, silver was trading at Rs 3,02,600 per kg, up from its previous closing price of Rs 2,92,600 per kg.
Gold prices in the bullion market rose by Rs 1,900, touching a new record high of Rs 1,48,100 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes). Earlier on Friday, gold had closed at Rs 1,46,200 per 10 grams. Experts said that amid the continuous increase in demand for precious metals and global economic uncertainties, investors are moving towards safe assets, due to which the prices of both gold and silver are continuously increasing.
