Una, July 14: The Himachal government is providing financial assistance of ?1.50 lakh under the 'Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana' to eligible families belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes for the construction of permanent houses. This assistance is granted to individuals who own registered land and whose annual income does not exceed ?50,000. Beneficiaries are required to submit their applications, along with all necessary documents, to the office of the Tehsil Welfare Officer.
This information was shared by 'Purvi Kalamanch Jalgran Tabba,' a theatre troupe affiliated with the Department of Information and Public Relations. As part of the second phase of the awareness campaign launched today (Tuesday), the troupe educated villagers in Jodian and Janani (Haroli subdivision) about various public welfare schemes through music and street plays.
The artists explained that the 'Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana' is fulfilling the dreams of poor families who own land but are unable to build permanent houses due to limited resources.
Additionally, villagers were informed about schemes such as the 'Mukhyamantri Sukh Aashray Yojana,' 'Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana,' and 'Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana,' as well as the issue of drug abuse prevention. Describing drug abuse as a serious social evil, the artists urged people to stay away from drugs and to raise awareness about this issue within society.
It is noteworthy that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is implementing various schemes and programs for the socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. The 'Purvi Kala Manch Jalgraan Tabba' will conduct programs featuring music and street plays to entertain the public and inform them about welfare schemes. These events are scheduled for July 15 at Jangal Panjawar and Bhadsali Tholiyan (Haroli); July 16 at Batuhi and Lamlehri Upparli (Una); July 17 at Jakhera and Bahdala Lower (Una); and July 18 at Paroiya Kalan and Pansai.
Local villagers were present on this occasion, including Kanta Devi (Pradhan, Kutharbeet), Manjeet Kaur (Pradhan, Polianbeet), Lovely Kumar (Up-Pradhan, Polianbeet), Ravi Kumar (Up-Pradhan, Kutharbeet), and Ward Panchs Amarjit Kaur, Balbir Singh, Gurpal Kaur, Poonam, Asha Devi, and Raj Kumar.
