Hoshiarpur:- Interesting matches were witnessed in the next round of Group-A of the 79th National Football Championship under the Santosh Trophy being organized by the Punjab Football Federation at the Principal Harbhajan Singh Football Stadium in Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur. In the first match of the day, the Jammu and Kashmir team defeated Himachal Pradesh by a margin of 3-0.
SP Major Singh attended as the chief guest on the occasion of this match. He introduced the players and said that the foundation of a healthy society can be laid only through sports. He inspired the players to play with sportsmanship and congratulated the organizers for organizing the Santosh Trophy.
In the next match, Punjab defeated the Ladakh team by a margin of 3-0. On this occasion, Principal Tarsem Singh Bhinder of Sikh National College Banga attended as the chief guest and said that Mahilpur is known as the nursery of football where it is a matter of pride to organize the Santosh Trophy.
