Sangrur:- District Police Sangrur has achieved great success under the special campaign being run against bad elements and has busted a gang involved in murder, attempted murder and robbery. The police have arrested 5 accused in this case and recovered 4 country-made pistols, a 12 bore rifle, 9 live rounds, a khapra and 4 iron pipes from their possession.
SSP Sangrur **Dr. Ravjot Grewal (IPS)** told during the press conference that while taking action in the area of ????Longowal police station, the police have recovered 2 country-made pistols .32 bore with 4 live rounds, one country-made pistol .315 bore with 2 live rounds, one country-made pistol .30 bore, one 12 bore rifle with 3 live rounds, one khapra and 4 iron pipes. He said that under the supervision of Captain of Police (Investigation) **Davinder Attri**, the CIA The team of Inspector in-charge of Sangrur **Sandeep Singh** received confidential information from an informer on 23 June 2026 that Kuljit Singh alias Tullu, Manjinder Singh alias Mani, Harpreet Singh alias Anmol, Shahil alias Nepali and Prabhjot Singh alias Prabh are planning to commit incidents of fighting, robbery and theft and they are also in possession of illegal arms and other deadly weapons.
Based on the information of the informer, a case was registered at Police Station Longowal under Section 310(4), 310(5) BNS and 25/54/59 Arms Act and an investigation was started.
During the investigation, the police raided an uninhabited place on the drain track near village Badrakhan and arrested Kuljit Singh alias Tullu, Manjinder Singh alias Mani, Harpreet Singh alias Anmol, Shahil alias Nepali and Prabhjot Singh alias Prabh. 2 country-made pistols .32 bore with 4 live rounds, one country-made pistol .315 bore with 2 live rounds, one country-made pistol .30 bore, one 12 bore rifle with 3 live rounds, one khapra and 4 iron pipes were recovered from their possession.
The SSP said that the accused are being interrogated in depth after obtaining police remand and more important revelations are likely to be made during the investigation.
During the preliminary interrogation and criminal record check, it has also come to light that Kuljit Singh alias Tullu, Manjinder Singh alias Mani, Harpreet Singh alias Anmol and Shahil alias Nepali were previously wanted by the police of Sangrur, Mansa, Patiala and Barnala districts in serious cases like murder and attempt to murder.
