Karnal, October 25: Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh announced that a Run for Unity will be organized on October 31st, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Additionally, a program will be organized to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the song Vande Mataram. Following this, the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be celebrated with full devotion and enthusiasm.
Paryatras will be organized across the state to mark this occasion. Considering the sensitivity of these events of national and religious importance, the concerned officials should ensure all necessary arrangements.
DC Uttam Singh was giving necessary instructions to all the officials in a meeting regarding the preparations for the upcoming events in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat on Saturday. Earlier, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, via video conference from Chandigarh, provided necessary instructions to all the District Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police regarding these events.
The DC directed the meeting to develop a detailed and phased plan for traffic, security, sanitation, health services, and essential amenities to ensure the successful conduct of these events.

Run for Unity aims to raise awareness among youth and citizens about the importance of national unity-
The DC stated that a Run for Unity will be organized across the state on October 31st, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a symbol of national unity and integrity. The goal of this race is to raise awareness among youth and citizens about the importance of national unity and to spread Sardar Patel's ideas to the masses.
A foot march will also be organized in the city, the date of which will be finalized soon. He urged all district residents to participate enthusiastically in the Run for Unity.
DC Uttam Singh stated that the march commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will pass through Karnal on November 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd. This Yatra will carry the eternal message of peace, sacrifice, and communal harmony preached by the great Guru.
During this period, the Sangat will reverently welcome and participate in the Yatra. He directed that adequate arrangements for security, traffic management, cleanliness, and necessary amenities for the Sangat be ensured in the district during this Yatra.
On this occasion, SP Ganga Ram Poonia, ADC cum CEO Zila Parishad Sonu Bhatt, SDM Karnal Anubhav Mehta, DDPO Kanchan Lata, DFSE Anil Kumar, DEO Sudesh Thakral, District Higher Education Officer Anita, along with officials from various departments were present.

Officials should take their responsibilities seriously regarding the purchase of paddy in the market -
After the review meeting, DC Uttam Singh reviewed the paddy procurement process. He instructed the concerned officials that any irregularities in the purchase of paddy will not be tolerated.
Relevant officials should increase road surveillance to check paddy coming from other states. Where necessary, checkpoints should be set up to check the paddy. Don't harass farmers unnecessarily. If paddy is being brought from other states in violation of regulations, strict action should be taken against them.
If any negligence is found in this matter, strict action will be taken against the concerned officer. He directed that CCTV cameras should be in working condition at all markets and other necessary places. These cameras will be inspected. If the cameras are found to be switched off, strict action will be taken.
