Jagraon:- An example of the law and order situation in Punjab that is deteriorating day by day was seen when robbers who came in the form of patients at Chopra Ayurvedic Center located on Hira Singh Road in Raikot took the doctor captive and robbed him at gunpoint.
In this regard, Dr. Vijay Kumar Chopra said that he was present at the clinic in the morning. Around 7 am, a person came and asked to administer glucose. He said that the patient had come to the hospital on Wednesday to get medicine.
The doctor said, “After entering the hospital, five other associates of the patient came inside and took him to a room while fighting. During this, the robbers also tried to put tape on his face and one of them showed a pistol and demanded money.’’
Dr. Vijay Chopra said that a robber entered the clinic and took away about one and a half lakh rupees in cash and his wallet from the drawer. The doctor said that the robbers went into the house and after fighting with his wife and son, they escaped and left their motorcycle there.
On receiving information about the incident, Inspector Parminder Singh, in-charge of the City Police Station, reached the spot and took stock of the incident. He said that the footage of the CCTV cameras installed inside and around the hospital is being examined and the robbers will be caught soon.
