Hoshiarpur:- Hoshiarpur MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that the government has fulfilled its promise to the unanimously elected Gram Panchayats. The government has released a special grant of ?5 lakh per Panchayat.
In Hoshiarpur-1 Block, a total of 255 Gram Panchayats were elected unanimously without any competition, for which crores have been released and all these Panchayats have now received this special grant. This promise was made by the government with an objective to promote consensus-based democratic traditions at the village level, promote mutual harmony and accelerate development.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that the villages that chose unity over electoral competition have set a good example of democratic maturity. He said, "This grant is not just a financial assistance but also a recognition of the sense of solidarity and collective responsibility shown by the villagers."
Dr. Raj further said that fulfilling the promises made to the public is his priority. He assured that the government will continue to work tirelessly in the future to strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions and promote rural development.
