Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), October 11, 2026: As part of a special initiative by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a special 30-minute documentary on his life was screened on LED screens in the villages of Malkpur and Nabipur in Kharar block. The initiative aims to familiarise people with the life, teachings and message of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj to society.

Providing information in this regard, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kharar, Gurmeet Singh said that the Punjab Government was screening this special documentary in villages to mark the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, so that as many people as possible could learn about his life and ideology.

He said that through his Bani and teachings, Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj conveyed the message of equality, mutual brotherhood, human dignity and harmony. His ideology inspires people to serve humanity and build an egalitarian society by eliminating caste-based discrimination and other forms of inequality.

He added that such initiatives can help connect the younger generation with the lives and teachings of the great Gurus while further strengthening mutual solidarity and harmony in society. He appealed to people to adopt the teachings of the Gurus in their lives and contribute to promoting equality, brotherhood and human values in society.
