New Delhi: Passengers are facing a lot of inconvenience due to the large-scale cancellation of IndiGo flights and they are getting frustrated at the airports. Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Ministry has ordered IndiGo to provide refunds to passengers for cancelled flights by 8 pm on Sunday, December 7. The airline has also been asked to ensure that all the luggage (bags) taken from passengers due to flight cancellations are provided to them within the next 48 hours.
After the country's largest airline IndiGo cancelled more than 1,000 flights, the ministry said that immediate regulatory action will be taken for any delay or non-compliance in the refund process. Airlines have also been directed not to levy any rescheduling charges on passengers whose air tickets were cancelled.
More than 400 IndiGo flights were cancelled from various airports on Saturday. The ministry said the airline should ensure that baggage separated from passengers due to flight cancellations or delays is traced and delivered to the passengers within the next 48 hours.
