Garhshankar (Hari Krishan Gangar):- Despite the heavy rain, hundreds of wheelchairs and tricycles were distributed among needy persons with physical disabilities by the Raju Brothers Welfare Association UK and Punjab, under the leadership of Happy Sadhowal and Suman, Sarpanch of Sadhowal.
Happy Sadhowal said that Amarjit Singh Raju, who lives in England, organises this camp every year and bears the entire expenditure of the wheelchair distribution event.
Those present on the occasion included Som Nath Bangar, President of the Garhshankar Municipal Council; Darshan Singh Mattu; Lakhwinder Singh Lucky; Shubhash Mattuch; Dr. Tarsem Singh, Chairman of the Body Donation Organisation, Hoshiarpur; Dr. Principal Bikkar Singh, President of Jeevan Jagriti Manch, Garhshankar; and Davinder Kumar, editor of Paigam-e-Jagat, along with many other prominent personalities.
Prominent personalities were also honoured on the occasion. Financial assistance in cash was provided to poor and needy persons as well.
