Karnal, February 3: Rajesh Khanna, a talented athlete from Karnal and a retired Indian Air Force officer, has brought glory to his state and district with his outstanding performance at the 7th National Masters Athletics Championship. This national competition, held from January 30 to February 2, 2026, at Patel Stadium, Ajmer, saw the participation of 1520 male and female athletes from 17 states across the country. Competing in the 50+ age category, Rajesh Khanna won two gold medals – one in the 4×100 meter relay and another in the 4×400 meter relay.
Thanks to Rajesh Khanna's exceptional performance, the Haryana team also clinched the overall championship title. This achievement is a matter of pride for both Karnal and Haryana. Rajesh Khanna is a retired Indian Air Force officer and is currently working as a Deputy Manager at Eldeco Company in Panipat.
Based on his consistently excellent performance, Rajesh Khanna has also been selected for the upcoming Open World Masters Games 2026, which will be held from February 6 to February 15, 2026, in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
