Una, June 2- Under the Public Distribution System, 1,41,330 ration card holders of the district are being benefited through 322 fair price shops. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal while presiding over the quarterly review meeting of the Public Distribution System in his chamber on Monday. He informed that Una district has 78061 consumers of APL category, 18,846 of BPL, 9,996 of Antyodaya Anna Yojana and 30,897 consumers of primary households.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that from January to April, 2025, 61,724 quintals of flour, 36,579 quintals of rice, 8,626 quintals of sugar, 1,288 quintals of salt, 6,274 quintals of gram dal, 1,987 quintals of Malka dal, 2,751 quintals of urad dal, 6,98,056 liters of mustard oil and 14 liters of refined oil have been distributed in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal informed that from January to April, 2025, 771 inspections were conducted by the Food Supply Department in the district and during this period, action was taken in 1 case and a fine of Rs 1,500 was imposed on finding various irregularities. Apart from this, 27 shopkeepers and traders were fined Rs 27,500 for using polythene. Under Himachal Pradesh Bricks Clean Control, a total of 11 brick kilns were inspected in the district and a total fine of 8 lakh 61 thousand 665 rupees was imposed due to irregularities.
Along with this, he also informed that 157.70 quintals of wheat was purchased from a total of 29 farmers in Rampur and Takarla wheat procurement mandis. He told that 127.70 quintals of wheat was purchased from 22 farmers from Rampur Mandi and 30 quintals of wheat was purchased from 7 farmers in Takarla.
