Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 8: Punjab Numberdar Union, Sub Tehsil Banur, today, under the leadership of President Kulbir Singh, presented a cheque of Rs. 1.20 lakh to Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal for flood relief in the state.
The Deputy Commissioner, while appreciating this initiative of the Numberdars of Sub Tehsil Banur, said that the flood victims are in dire need of help for their rehabilitation and therefore, whatever help is given for their rehabilitation, it is small compared to their losses, but it is enough to boost their spirits.
He said that the Punjab Government and various NGOs are coming forward to help these flood victims on a large scale. He said that the people of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district have also sent help through the district administration to help the flood victims and the District Red Cross Society has also sent help from time to time.
Among the numberdars present on this occasion were Punjab President Jarnail Singh Jharmadi, Satnam Singh Landran, District President Gurjit Singh Mohali, Kuljit Singh Khaspur President Banur Tehsil, Jagtar Singh Basma Senior Vice President, Satnam Singh Satta Treasurer, Kulwant Singh Dharamgarh Numberdar, Kuldeep Singh Mann Vice President Punjab, Harpal Singh Vice President Punjab, Sukhdev Singh Nangal Vice President, Bahadur Singh Numberdar, Raghvir Singh Khera Gajju Numberdar, Swaran Singh Bajwa Numberdar Banur, Surinder Singh Numberdar Buta Singh Wala, Jaswant Singh Numberdar Karala and other numberdars were also present.
