Sunam, 10 October:- Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to providing documentary proof of home ownership to families who have been living for generations within the Lal Lakir areas of villages. He said that the ‘Mera Ghar, Mere Naam’ scheme is an important initiative for families who previously did not have clear documents establishing ownership of their homes.
The Cabinet Minister was addressing a gathering today while distributing property cards to 227 beneficiaries in Kotla Amru village of the Sunam Assembly constituency. Congratulating the beneficiaries, he said that receiving ownership records for homes built through their own hard work is a moment of pride and satisfaction for every family. The initiative provides documentary recognition of families’ existing rights and is also significant for future generations.
Aman Arora said that many families living within the Lal Lakir areas had occupied their homes for a long time, but the absence of clear ownership records had caused them difficulties in various property-related matters. He said that the government aims to resolve these problems systematically and provide people with documents relating to their homes.
While speaking to journalists and showing them a property card and the village map, the Cabinet Minister explained that records of house boundaries, area and ownership-related details had been prepared through surveys and digital mapping. He said that this process provides documentary recognition of property identification and related information, making it easier for people to establish their rights.
Arora said that having ownership documents would help families apply for loans, subject to the applicable conditions of banks, and complete legal procedures for property-related transactions. He added that such documents could also play an important role in improving access to financial opportunities for children’s higher education, business expansion and other family needs.
The Cabinet Minister said that surveys and record preparation under the scheme were being carried out in phases. He stressed that accuracy and transparency were essential to ensure that eligible beneficiaries received property cards based on correct records. He said that the distribution of cards would continue as the required procedures were completed in villages.
Aman Arora said that families living within the Lal Lakir areas had faced documentary ownership-related difficulties for a long time. He alleged that previous governments had not shown the necessary seriousness in resolving these problems. He said that the Mann government was prioritising solutions to issues affecting people’s everyday lives and that the distribution of property cards was an important step in this direction.
Aman Arora said that his priority was to serve the people of the Sunam Assembly constituency and Punjab, advance development works and ensure that eligible families received the benefits of government facilities.
He reiterated that the Punjab Government would continue to work with people’s needs at the centre of its efforts and that the process of providing property cards to eligible families under the ‘Mera Ghar, Mere Naam’ scheme would continue.
