Mahilpur:- MP from Lok Sabha constituency Hoshiarpur Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that the budget for 2026-27 presented by the Punjab government is dedicated to public welfare and development, which will give a new direction and momentum to the development of the state. He said that fulfilling the promise made by the AAP government, a guarantee of Rs. 1,000 per month has been implemented in the budget for all women above the age of 18 years, while women from Scheduled Castes will get Rs. 1,500 per month.
He said that all the women in the family will get the benefit of this scheme. MP Dr. Chabbewal further said that this is a big step taken by the Punjab government towards economic empowerment of the scheme, under which registration will start from April 13, Baisakhi. He further said that the Punjab government has also made special arrangements for the expansion of the Rangla Punjab Vikas Yojana.
The budget of this scheme has been increased by double the amount of Rs 1,170 crore compared to last year, which will further accelerate development work in the state. Dr. Chabbewal said that the budget for the agriculture sector for the year 2026-27 has been increased by 6 percent, with an amount of Rs 15,377 crore provided. To accelerate the development of urban areas, the government has increased the funding for urban local bodies four times to Rs 1,000 crore.
Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that this budget presented by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been prepared keeping in mind the needs of every section and this budget will give a new direction to the development of the state.
He said that the amount of money being spent by the Punjab government for development is not being spent by any other state on public welfare works.
