Chandigarh, October 3:- Haryana Assembly Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan said that through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the message of service, social participation and public welfare is being taken to every village. In this sequence, when the Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra reached Choura village in Karnal, he joined the villagers in welcoming the yatra at the Primary Health Centre.
On this occasion, he said that information about various public welfare schemes being run by the state and central governments is being conveyed to the people through the Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra. At the same time, people are also being informed through video about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life and 25 years of public service. He said that such programmes are playing an important role in inspiring people towards the spirit of service and social participation, as well as creating awareness about public welfare schemes.
Harvinder Kalyan said that public service and development are the government’s fundamental commitments. In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had resolved to provide basic facilities such as electricity, paved roads and toilets to every village and household in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has himself seen and experienced poverty, which, he said, is why he has been continuously working for the welfare of the poor and deprived sections. He said that public representatives, officials, employees, traders and labourers—all should have a spirit of service. Sharing his experiences, he said that he himself had undertaken a 400-kilometre foot journey, during which he closely observed the actual conditions and circumstances of every village. He said that he had resolved that if given an opportunity, he would undertake development works in the area with the blessings and support of the people. He said that around 80 to 85 new roads have been constructed in the area. Work has also been carried out on major projects such as a medical university and college in the area. Uninterrupted electricity has been provided to every village.
He said that transparent governance has effectively curbed corruption and that young people are now getting jobs with complete transparency, without any favour or payment, and on the basis of merit. He said that such a transparent system has been created that eligible people are receiving pensions and benefits of other schemes while sitting at home. He said that the birth anniversaries of great personalities are being celebrated on a grand scale at the government level to promote social unity. Discussing Gram Sabhas and local development works, he said that community centres and ponds have been constructed and renovated in the villages.
Thereafter, the Assembly Speaker attended a cricket tournament and ‘Fit India’ sports session organised at the Government Senior Secondary School in Kutail village of Karnal as the chief guest. On the occasion, the Assembly Speaker interacted with the players and also stepped onto the pitch himself to play a shot. Encouraging the players and youth, he said that sports not only help maintain physical health but also develop discipline, teamwork and leadership skills among young people. He said that the Fit India campaign is a unique initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the country healthy and energetic.
The Assembly Speaker, while referring to the challenges of the digital age, laid special emphasis on cyber security awareness. He said that in the present era, the increasing use of the internet and smartphones has also increased the risk of cybercrimes. He said that through such campaigns, it is very important to provide young people and villagers with information on how to protect themselves from digital fraud and remain alert.
