Ambala, October 3 (R. Singh):- The Ambala Division of Northern Railway has earned revenue of Rs 3.20 crore by loading maize from Rajpura and Dhulkot (Ambala) railway stations.
According to information provided by the Public Relations Department of the DRM, M/s Abyss Food and Protein Private Limited, Shambhu, had loaded 62 wagons of maize from Rajpura Railway Station in 2023, generating revenue of Rs 87.33 lakh for the Railways. Three years later, in 2026, through the fruitful efforts of the Ambala Division, a new record has been set in maize loading by successfully loading 210 wagons, resulting in additional revenue of Rs 3.20 crore.
According to the information, in July 2026, Abyss Food and Protein Private Limited was informed that the 15 per cent busy-season surcharge had been waived until September 30, 2026. Following this, the company loaded 84 wagons from Rajpura Station to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, generating additional revenue of Rs 1.17 crore. In this sequence, a new rationalised freight tariff schedule for food grains, effective from August 1, was explained to Abyss Food and Protein Private Limited. The company subsequently loaded 126 wagons from Dhulkot Railway Station for Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh and Kyatsandra in Karnataka, generating additional revenue of Rs 2.03 crore for the Railways.
