Karnal, July 9:- Mayor Renu Bala Gupta listened to the grievances of citizens from various wards of the city with seriousness and sensitivity at the Municipal Corporation office. Effective solutions for several issues were ensured on the spot, while instructions were issued to the concerned officials to take time-bound action and submit reports within the stipulated timeframe regarding the remaining cases.
During the public hearing on Thursday, complaints primarily related to roads, sewerage, drainage, streetlights, sanitation, drinking water supply, and other civic amenities came to the fore. After reviewing each complaint in detail, the Mayor gave clear instructions to officials from the relevant departments that unnecessary delays or negligence in any work concerning the public interest would not be accepted. She emphasized that the resolution of every complaint must be ensured with quality, transparency, and accountability.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta stated that every officer and employee of the Municipal Corporation is accountable to the public. "Our priority is to ensure that citizens do not have to make repeated rounds of offices to get their problems resolved. The objective of the public hearing is not merely to listen to complaints but to ensure their prompt and permanent resolution," she said.
She added that the entire Municipal Corporation team is working systematically to transform Karnal into a clean, beautiful, safe, and modern city. Along with strengthening the city's infrastructure, special attention is being paid to the quality of development works so that every citizen can experience a better urban life.
Appealing for active participation from the citizens, the Mayor remarked that the public's trust, cooperation, and suggestions are the greatest strengths of the city's development. "If there is a problem in any area, please bring it to the notice of the Municipal Corporation without hesitation. It is through public participation that Karnal will become a model city of development, cleanliness, and good governance," she said.
She directed officials to regularly monitor every complaint received during the public hearing and keep a constant watch on its progress until resolved, ensuring that the general public receives timely relief.
