Patiala, 17 August:- Issuing a statement to press here today, PRTC Workers Action Committee Convener Nirmal Singh Dhaliwal and members Sarv Shri Baldev Raj Batta, Harpreet Singh Khattra, Naseeb Chand, Tarsem Singh and Mohammad Khalil said that PRTC management, where on one side is criminally neglecting to implement various types of legally approved financial benefits of workers and tarnishing law, on the other side management has now completely failed in betterment and operation of organization. Clearly, gross neglect of every aspect of organization is being done due to mismanagement, from which it is clearly visible that future of organization will become very bleak and financial crisis will arise, whose consequences will be borne by current employees and pensioners of PRTC. But for this mismanagement no officer of organization will be said anything in this corrupt system.
Expressing strong resentment, Action Committee leaders said that PRTC management has violated government orders regarding NPS and has not yet made entitled workers entitled to NPS, causing unforeseen future loss to workers. Similarly about 50 employees, who applied for job before January 2004 but got job after January 2004, they are entitled to old pension as per government orders, but management has not yet given them pension benefit. Punjab Government had revised TA-DA rates one year ago, this also our management has considered trivial to implement. Travel allowance payable as one basic pay after two years to retired employees is also not being given. This is treatment being done by our management with senior citizens.
More than Rs 70 crore of various types of financial arrears due to workers are not being given for many years. Punjab Government is not giving more than Rs 600 crore amount of free travel facilities to PRTC, due to which salary, pension and many other types of financial arrears are never received on time. Files of promotions of workers are not being taken out. No hesitation at all is being done from extravagant expenditure. Despite induction of 250 new buses under Kilometre Scheme due to mismanagement there has been no increase in income at all, while almost daily expenditure of Rs 40 lakh has increased.
No steps are being taken for better operation of organization. At new bus stand built at Patiala, material used in constructed building should be got examined from some technical higher institute, so that cracks in building, leakage, cement and other fittings quality etc can be known. Urinals and toilets at bus stand are not even half of requirement. Due to lack of planning in bus stand and workshop, arrangement for parking and repairing buses is not at all appropriate. There is no arrangement of suitable place for parking vehicles of employees.
Action Committee leaders announced that if demands mentioned without any delay are not fully accepted and implemented within 15 days, then on 8 September 2026 a massive dharna will be held in front of PRTC Patiala head office and before that series of rallies, press notes, meetings etc will be continued continuously.
