Promotion of Braille script in the era of modernity is the need of the hour Prof Dr Jasvira Minhas

Hoshiarpur:- Disabled Person Welfare Society, an organization working for the welfare of the disabled, in collaboration with the Education Department, organized a one-day seminar/workshop for the district's Special Educator (IERT) teachers at the Food and Craft Institute. This program was organized under the leadership of the organization's President Mr. Sandeep Sharma and General Secretary Mr. Rajkumar. During the seminar, special teachers from across the district were given detailed information and experimental training about Braille script.
While addressing, President Sandeep Sharma said that knowledge of Braille script should be made mandatory for visually impaired children studying in government schools. He said that the main objective of the organization is to connect visually impaired students with Braille script and brighten their future so that they can become self-reliant. The program began with Saraswati Vandana by Sanjeev Arora, an executive member of the organization and a visually impaired person.
Social worker Dolly Cheema welcomed the teachers and the chief guest. Professor Dr. Jasvira Minhas, who arrived specially on this occasion, highly appreciated the efforts of the organization. She said that in the era of modernity, the promotion of Braille script is the main need of the hour. During her address, she mentioned the famous poet of the 16th century John Milton and the inspirational personality Helen Keller and said that no difficulty can hinder the progress of a person.
She said that she had come to give motivational lectures but she herself got inspired after coming here. She also assured to support the organization at all times. On the arrival of the chief guest, a welcome song was presented by Sanjeev. Dr. Kewal Krishna Takhi, playing the role of conductor, connected the teachers with the Punjabi folk stream with his melodious voice.
On this occasion, Mr. Prem Saini, MD of Nice Computer Center and Mrs. Anju Saini, District Coordinator of the Education Department also gave a message to the teachers to stay connected with Braille script.
