Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 25th August:- Mrs. Komal Mittal, District Magistrate, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, exercising the powers conferred under Chapter 11 (under Section 163) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023), has issued prohibitory orders against holding any kind of demonstration, raising slogans, and gathering of five or more persons in the district.
Giving more information in this regard, Mrs. Komal Mittal said that sometimes dharnas, demonstrations etc. are held by political organizations, unions etc. regarding their demands, due to which there remains apprehension of deterioration of law and order situation and there can also be damage to the life and property of the general public and public property. Therefore, a ban has been imposed on gathering of five or more persons, any kind of demonstration, raising slogans in the district, so that the law and order situation can be maintained.
She informed that these orders will not be applicable to para-military force, military force, officers, employees deployed on government duty, weddings, religious rituals, government functions and cremation of the deceased. These orders will come into force with immediate effect in District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar from 19.08.2026 to 18.10.2026.
