Nawanshahr, October 13 (Gurbakhsh Singh Mahe):- Extensive preparations have begun at the sacred shrine of Charan Chhoh Ganga, Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, to celebrate the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji in February 2027 with devotion, respect and enthusiasm. The preparations are beginning with the construction of a shed measuring 65 feet by 200 feet. Committee president Sant Surinder Dass shared this information while addressing the congregation.
He said that the organisers, volunteers and devotees were taking responsibility for various services to make the sacred event memorable. The 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji holds special significance for the entire Adi Dharmi community and devotees associated with the Guru Maharaj Ji’s philosophy. A large number of devotees from India and abroad are expected to pay their respects at Charan Chhoh Ganga, Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, during the events being organised to mark this historic occasion.
Keeping this in view, preparations are being made for langar, drinking water, vehicle parking, cleanliness, accommodation and other essential facilities for the convenience of devotees. The organisers are paying special attention to forming different teams of volunteers and making the necessary arrangements in view of the expected influx of devotees, so that the event can be conducted smoothly.
Committee chairman Shri Nazar Ram Mann and Jagdish Kumar, in-charge of the welcome committee associated with the political wing, said that the congregation holds some programme at Charan Chhoh Ganga almost every week, for which the committee makes arrangements for langar and other facilities. However, the committee’s major event will be held on the night of December 31, 2026, and on January 1, 2027, while the 650th Gurpurab will be organised by the management committee in February. Apart from these, the committee will not hold any other programme of its own.
They said that religious congregations would be organised during the event, where devotees would be informed about the bani and teachings of Guru Maharaj Ji and his messages of equality, brotherhood and mutual harmony for humanity. Through his sacred bani, Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji opposed caste discrimination, social hierarchy and social injustice, and conveyed the message of equality, honest labour, truth and human unity. The concept of ‘Begampura’ presented by him continues to inspire the vision of a society where no one faces discrimination and every person enjoys equal respect and rights.
The organisers appealed to all devotees to participate enthusiastically in the programmes dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purb and contribute to the services with their body, mind and resources. With preparations underway at Charan Chhoh Ganga, Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, an atmosphere of great enthusiasm and devotion has emerged among the congregation.
Sant Girdhari Lal, Baba Dayal Chand Banga, Sant Karam Chand, Manjit Mugowal, Sukhchain Singh Kala and many other leaders and workers were also present on the occasion.
