At just 19 years of age, competing in the Asian U-20 Athletics Championships in Hong Kong, China, Pooja achieved a historic jump of 1.93 meters—not only winning the gold medal but also shattering a 14-year-old Senior National Record.

During the ongoing championships in Hong Kong, Pooja first broke the Under-20 national record by clearing a height of 1.91 meters, thereby securing the gold medal. Subsequently, she successfully cleared the 1.93-meter mark. With this feat, she also broke the Senior National Record of 1.92 meters, which had been held by Kerala's Sahana Kumari since 2012. Pooja has thus become the first Indian woman in the history of the Asian U-20 Championships to win a gold medal in the High Jump event.
