Haroli/Una, April 23 (Rajveer Chopra):— With the objective of making students aware and ensuring their safety, a special awareness program was organized at Shiksha Bharti B.Ed College, Samur Kalan, as part of an ongoing campaign conducted by the Police Department.
During the program, ASI Anita Devi—posted at the District Una Women's Police Station—provided students with detailed information regarding cyber security, drug de-addiction, legal rights, and the POCSO Act.
She highlighted that in today's digital era, cybercrimes are on the rise; therefore, it is absolutely essential to exercise caution while using social media. Additionally, while shedding light on the adverse effects of substance abuse, a message was conveyed to the youth urging them to stay away from drugs.
Informing the students about the strictness of the law regarding cases of sexual exploitation against children, ASI Anita Devi emphasized the necessity of immediately reporting any form of misconduct. She appealed to the students to remain aware of their rights and to contact the police immediately in the event of any suspicious situation.
At the conclusion of the program, the students demonstrated active participation by asking questions and receiving clarifications on their queries. Such awareness programs are playing a pivotal role in making students informed, vigilant, and safe.
