Nawan Shehar:- The poetic evening dedicated to mother held at village Sajawalpur of former president of Navjot Sahit Sanstha (Regd.) Aur, Gurnek Sher Ji, turned out to be memorable. On this occasion, the poets shared compositions depicting mother's love and mother's invaluable contribution towards her family and especially children. This evening was dedicated to the life journey of late Amar Kaur Mander who had passed away in Canada the other day.
During this, presentations of songs, poems and ghazals included Principal Ram Nath Kataria, Rajni Sharma, Des Raj Bali, Hari Kishan Patwari, Rajwinder Kaur Nagra, Neeru Jassal, Manpreet Kaur Sodhian, Amarjit Kaur Chandar etc. President of the organization Davinder Skohpuri said that existence of family is possible with the existence of mother because where motherly love holds immense feelings for multi-faceted development of children, a mother as a woman maintains a bond of good wishes for all members of the family. Writer Surjit Majari also shared his views regarding respect for mother.
Gurnek Sher and his life partner Balvir Kaur who had returned home from Canada the other day were welcomed by the organization with flower garlands and information was also obtained from them about the present situation of services towards Punjabi there. Gurnek Sher said that creation of such belongingness and family atmosphere among all its members by Navjot Sahit Sanstha is a big example. Stage was conducted by Secretary of the organization Dr. Kewal Ram and words of thanks were shared by Punjabi lecturer Raj Rani.
