Una, January 28: PM Shri School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pekhubela, Una, has brought glory to Una district and Himachal Pradesh by securing the first position at the national level in the Model Youth Gram Sabha competition under the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya category.
The school team received the award from the Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, at a national ceremony held on Wednesday at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The school was presented with a check of Rs. 1 crore, a certificate of appreciation, and a memento.
The award was received by the school's principal, Raj Singh, along with the participating students. Members of the school's teaching staff, Sunita Chaudhary, Amit Kumar, and Dharmendra Kumar, along with District Panchayat Officer Una, Shravan Kumar, were also present at the ceremony.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri congratulated the school management, teachers, and students on this achievement, calling it a moment of pride for the state and the district. Deputy Commissioner Una, Jatin Lal, also appreciated this achievement.
