Garhshankar:- The meeting of Pensioners Welfare Association Punjab unit Block Garhshankar Zone was held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Verma at Library Gandhi Park Garhshankar. Regarding the decisions of the meeting, pensioner leaders Balwant Ram and Gopal Das Manhotra said that a large number of pensioners from Block Garhshankar will participate in the Maha Rally to be held in Chandigarh on August 7 by Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front Punjab.
Vehicles for the rally will leave from Kachihri near the Forest Department office at 9 am. Teams have been formed to publicize and collect funds for the rally, which will convey the message of the rally to every pensioner.
This rally will shake the roots of the Punjab government because the Punjab government has not fulfilled a single demand of the employees and pensioners of Punjab as per its promises. On the contrary, the employees and pensioners who were demanding their rights were subjected to torture due to which there is a huge resentment against the government in this section, which will be expressed in the upcoming elections and the AAP has tasted defeat.
He said that the Punjab government has committed a big betrayal with the pensioners. Hundreds of pensioners of Punjab have become dear to God while waiting for their dues. Instead of considering the demands of the struggling elderly pensioners with compassion, lathicharges were fired on the pensioners and tear gas shells were fired.
He said that the High Court's decision to issue DA should be implemented immediately, a rate of 2.59 should be implemented for pension reform, a cashless scheme should be implemented for treatment, the fixed medical allowance should be increased to two thousand, the outstanding D.
