Una, May 8: Under the General Elections-2026 for Panchayati Raj Institutions, a total of 14 candidates from various District Council wards across Una district filed their nomination papers on Friday—the second day of the nomination process. This information was provided by the District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Jatin Lal.
He stated that four candidates filed nominations for District Council wards falling under the Haroli sub-division. These include Anu Bala (wife of Suresh Kumar) and Indu Bala (wife of Lekhraj) from Ward No. 14, Panjavar; and Narendra Singh (son of Dhani Ram) and Jaspal (son of Sukh Dayal) from Ward No. 13, Haroli.
Under the Una sub-division, three candidates filed nomination papers for the post of District Council Member. These include Anu Thakur (wife of Manoj Kumar) from Ward No. 8, Chatara; Bindu Sharma (wife of Rajan Kumar) from Ward No. 10, Raipur Sahora; and Sumit Kumar Sharma (son of Harish Kumar Sharma) from Ward No. 7, Takka.
Similarly, two candidates filed nominations in the Amb sub-division. These include Pawanjeet Singh (son of Balwant Singh) from Ward No. 1, Mubarakpur; and Arun Lata (wife of Sanjeev Kumar) from Ward No. 2, Kuthera Khairla.
In the Bangana sub-division, four candidates filed nomination papers. These include Seema Kumari (wife of Rajendra Kumar) from Ward No. 5, Lathiani; Yograj (son of Dharmchand) from Ward No. 4, Sohari; and Veena Devi (wife of Roshan Lal) and Chanchal Bala (wife of Subhash Chand) from Ward No. 6, Dhanet.
Additionally, from the Gagret sub-division, Rajni Devi (wife of Sushil Kumar) from Ward No. 16, Chalet, filed her nomination paper for the post of District Council Member.
The District Election Officer informed that nomination papers can be filed before the concerned officials on May 11, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The scrutiny of nomination papers will commence on May 12 at 10:00 AM, while candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations on May 14 and 15. Upon the completion of the withdrawal process, election symbols will be allotted to the candidates, and the final list will be published.
