Una, May 7:- Under the Panchayati Raj Institutions General Elections-2026, a total of 10 candidates from various wards across Una district filed their nomination papers for the post of Zila Parishad Member on the first day of the nomination process held on Thursday. This information was shared by District Election Officer (Panchayat) and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal. It is noteworthy that Una district has a total of 17 Zila Parishad wards.
He stated that the highest number of nominations on the first day were filed in Gagret subdivision, where four candidates submitted their papers. From Ward No. 15 Ambota, Ashwani Kumar son of Kuldeep Singh and Surinder Singh Kanwar son of Jamiyat Singh filed their nominations. Similarly, from Ward No. 17 Bhanjal Lower, Dalwinder Singh son of Sadhu Ram and Sham Lal son of Sant Ram submitted their nomination papers.
Likewise, under Amb subdivision, Arjun Singh son of late Sardar Pritam Singh filed his nomination for the post of Zila Parishad Member from Ward No. 3 Thathal.
Under Haroli subdivision, Dilbag Singh son of Ratna Singh from Ward No. 8 Badhaira and Hemlata wife of Praveen Kumar from Ward No. 1 Kungrat filed their nomination papers.
Meanwhile, under Una subdivision, Shobhit Gautam son of Desraj Gautam and Jasvir Kumar Vitta son of Makkhan Singh filed their nominations from Ward No. 7 Takka. Similarly, under Bangana subdivision, Satya Devi wife of Girdhari Lal submitted her nomination paper for the post of Zila Parishad Member from Ward No. 5 Lathiani.
Jatin Lal further informed that nomination papers can also be filed on May 8 and May 11 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM before the concerned authorities. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 12 from 10:00 AM onwards, while candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations on May 14 and 15. Immediately after the completion of the withdrawal process, election symbols will be allotted and the final list of candidates will be published.
