Panchayati Raj Institutions Elections to Be Held in Three Phases Across 249 Panchayats in Una District

Una, 18 May:- Jatin Lal, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Una, announced that the general elections for Panchayati Raj Institutions in 249 gram panchayats of Una district will be conducted in three phases on May 26, 28, and 30. He said that all concerned officers and employees are being given election rehearsals and training to ensure the polling process is conducted in a fair, peaceful, transparent, and systematic manner.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that in Una district, a total of 45 candidates are contesting for 17 Zila Parishad wards, 416 candidates for 107 Panchayat Samiti seats, while 849 candidates are in the fray for the posts of Pradhan, 930 for Up-Pradhan, and 1,809 for Ward Member positions across 249 gram panchayats.

District Panchayat Officer Shravan Kumar informed that there are a total of 379,459 voters in the 249 panchayats of Una district, including 191,767 male voters, 187,689 female voters, and 3 third-gender voters. To ensure smooth polling, a total of 396 polling stations have been established across the district.

Voting Schedule for Different Sub-Divisions

Amb Sub-Division

Polling in Amb subdivision will be conducted in three phases:

* **First Phase:** May 26
* **Second Phase:** May 28
* **Third Phase:** May 30

Voting and counting arrangements have been finalized for various gram panchayats under the subdivision. Counting of votes for all Zila Parishad wards and Panchayat Samiti seats under Amb subdivision will take place on May 31 from 9 AM at Government College Amb.

Bangana Sub-Division

Polling in Bangana subdivision will also be held in three phases:

* **May 28**
* **May 30**

Vote counting for Zila Parishad wards and Panchayat Samiti seats under Bangana subdivision will begin on May 31 at 9 AM at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College Bangana.

Gagret Sub-Division

Under Gagret subdivision, elections will be held in three phases:

* **First Phase:** May 26
* **Second Phase:** May 28
* **Third Phase:** May 30

Counting of votes for Panchayat elections will be carried out at respective Panchayat offices, while counting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections will begin on May 31 at 9 AM at ITI Gagret and BR Ambedkar Government Polytechnic College Ambota.

Una Sub-Division

Polling in Una subdivision will take place on:

Counting of votes for all Zila Parishad wards and Panchayat Samiti seats under Una subdivision will be held on May 31 from 9 AM at Government College Una.

Haroli Sub-Division

Under Haroli subdivision, Panchayat elections will be conducted in three phases:

The counting of votes for all Zila Parishad wards and Panchayat Samiti seats under Haroli subdivision will begin on May 31 from 9 AM at Government Senior Secondary School Haroli.

Officials stated that elaborate arrangements have been made across the district to ensure peaceful, transparent, and smooth conduct of the Panchayati Raj elections.
