Chandigarh, August 29:- Haryana’s Mewat region received a major gift in the field of education on Saturday. Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini handed over appointment letters to 1,054 newly appointed Primary (PRT) teachers of the Mewat cadre during a state-level orientation programme organised at the Anaj Mandi in Nuh. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the deployment of new teachers would improve the teacher-student ratio in the region and further strengthen the standard of primary education.
At the beginning of the programme, the Chief Minister lit the ceremonial lamp and described the day as special, saying that today was Pratipada of the month of Bhadon, Janmashtami was approaching, and National Sports Day was also being celebrated on the birth anniversary of the hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand. He said that holding such a large event on the land of the brave warrior Hasan Khan Mewati was a matter of pride for the Mewat region. On the occasion, a large exhibition comprising 22 stalls related to education was set up for the newly appointed teachers, which was inspected by the Chief Minister. Along with this, an effective training session was also organised through a PowerPoint presentation on a large LED screen to enhance the professional skills of the teachers. During the programme, the award money under the ‘Chief Minister Mewat Student Talent Honour Scheme’ was also released. Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Education Minister Shri Mahipal Dhanda, and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana were present on the occasion.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini described the new recruitment as a victory for the talent of the youth and said that under previous governments, jobs were given on the basis of nepotism, casteism, regionalism and the ‘parchi-kharchi’ system. He said that after the BJP government came to power, more than 2 lakh government jobs had been provided without ‘parchi’ and without ‘kharchi’, restoring the self-respect of deserving youth, whereas the previous Congress government had provided only 86,000 government jobs during its 10-year tenure. He also launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party over alleged corruption in recruitments in Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that Mewat, which was once considered backward in the field of education, has now become a region of talented children. With the strengthening of employment and education, a new educational dawn is emerging in Mewat. As part of this initiative, an honour amount of Rs. 39 lakh 90 thousand was released under the ‘Chief Minister Mewat Student Talent Honour Scheme’ for 70 talented children who secured more than 90 per cent marks in board examinations. He said that last year the number of such students was 40, which has increased to 70 this year. In addition, scholarships amounting to Rs. 52 lakh 44 thousand were also released to 1,364 students under the ‘Chief Minister Mewat Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme’.
He said that around 26,000 youth had been provided contractual jobs through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam and service protection had also been provided to them by making a law. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s dream is to make India a developed nation by 2047 and the younger generation will have an important role in achieving this goal. With this vision, the new National Education Policy has been implemented on the initiative of the Prime Minister.
The Chief Minister said that the DPRs of 450 school buildings in the district had been prepared and the government had released Rs. 200 crore. An amount of Rs. 400 crore would be spent on the improvement of these schools. He said that two phases of teacher training had been completed under Nipun Haryana and there is a plan to provide training to around 32,000 PRT teachers next month.
Chief Minister Urges Teachers to Take Five Pledges
Addressing the newly appointed teachers of the Mewat cadre, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that this appointment was the happy result of their years of hard work and the sacrifices made by their families. He urged the teachers to look at their appointment not as a difficult posting but as a posting for bringing change, and to give their best where opportunities appear to be limited. He said that teaching should be made interesting through sports, stories, pictures, activities and local examples. The mother tongue and local dialect of children should be respected and such an atmosphere should be created in the classroom where asking questions is considered curiosity and not weakness.
The Chief Minister also said that technology is an important tool in education and digital content can make learning interesting, but a machine can provide information, not values. Therefore, teachers should always keep human relationships at the centre.
On the occasion, he urged the teachers to take five pledges — to consider every child as their own child, not allow any child to fall behind in learning, go to school on time and perform their duties honestly, connect parents and society with education, and teach children through their own conduct those values that cannot be taught through books.
New Education Policy is a Document to Make India Vishwaguru – Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda
During the programme, Education Minister Shri Mahipal Dhanda said that Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini had given a major gift to the Mewat region today. Congratulating the newly appointed PRT teachers, he said that the land was shining with the energy of new resolutions. He said that primary education is the foundation of every child, and if the foundation is strong, the future will also be strong. He said that all of them are teachers who will build a strong foundation for children.
He said that the New Education Policy is a document to make India a Vishwaguru. He said that all the teachers had not come merely to do a job but to become carriers of change. Educating children is not a job but a sacred national service.
