Oneday district level workshop organized to provide information about government schemes and development plans to the Panchayat representatives

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 05:- A one-day district level workshop was organized today at the Kisan Vikas Chamber auditorium with the aim of providing information to the elected representatives of Panchayat institutions, especially Sarpanches and Panches, about the Own Source Revenue of Gram Panchayats, Gram Panchayat Development Scheme and various flagship schemes of the government.
MLA Halqa Derabassi Mr. Kuljit Singh Randhawa specially participated in this workshop.
MLA Mr. Kuljit Singh Randhawa appreciated such efforts being made by the Punjab Government to increase the capacity of Panchayat representatives and make them aware about various government schemes. He said that such workshops help Sarpanches and Panches in planning and implementing development works in their villages more effectively.
He said that getting detailed information about government schemes and development plans can ensure that maximum benefits of these schemes are delivered to the common people. He appealed to the Panchayat representatives to work actively to deliver the government’s public welfare schemes to every eligible beneficiary.
Sarpanches and Panches of Gram Panchayats belonging to different blocks of the district participated in the workshop in large numbers. During the program, resource persons related to Panchayat Development and Training shared detailed information about various government schemes and schemes and provided guidance on how to effectively deliver the benefits of these schemes to the common people.
Apart from this, information was given by the officials of Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) regarding installation of solar lights in villages. He also apprised the Sarpanches about the environmental and economic benefits of using solar energy based lights. On this occasion, Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Mrs. Parambir Kaur, District Development and Panchayat Officer and Block Development and Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) of all the four blocks of the district were also present.
